Clifords War and AEP $13.95
Cliford’s War and A.E.P. (alternative educational placement) is
a book that allows the uninitiated and unsuspecting a glimpse
of what, prior to now, only teachers, administrators, paraprofessionals
and students in many of the inner-city, public schools of America
must deal with on a daily basis. It is one school system’s attempt
to provide help for students who are disruptive to the educational
process to the extent that the other students in their classes
are deprived of a quality education. Additionally, it provides
an opportunity for boys and girls who are disruptive and those
who think it’s cool to be disruptive, a chance to examine, objectively,
just how ugly this disorderliness is and how damaging it can be
to themselves and to the other students in their classes.

Its OK to Be Different $7.99
It’s O.K. to Be Different Zebie, a newborn zebra, is born with
no stripes. Because Zebras are born with and identified by their
stripes, as Zebie grows, he is unhappy about his stripelessness.
Compounding this unhappiness, his playmates, Zill and Zim, tease
him about his stripelessness. Zebie's mother, Zue, and his grandmother,
Zulia, have taught Zebie to ignore taunts about his stripelessness.
They have taught him that It's O.K. To Be Different. They have
told him that no two zebras are exactly alike, that they all have
similarities and they all have differences. Zebie usually feels
better after these conversations with his mother and grandmother.
Through conversations with Zim, one of Zebie's playmates, Zebie
learns that royal zebras, King Zavid and Queen Zuth, are bringing
their daughter, Princess Zula, to Zee Land. They are bringing
her to Zee Land to choose a prince to wed. Zebie asks his grandmother
and learns more about the approaching royal visit. Zebie, like
all of the other male zebras of marriageable age, is invited by
the king and queen to the ball being given by them for their daughter.
At this ball, Princess Zula will choose her prince. Zebie has
misgivings about attending the ball. He fears ridicule by the
princess when she witnesses his stripelessness. He does not know
that the princess has already seen him. He does not know that
the princess thinks that he is … Though Zebie is reluctant, his
parents convince him that he must attend the ball. He does and

Lest We Forget Casebound Copy $19.95
Lest We Forget The poems and other writings contained in this
book are intended to provoke thought and generate discussions
about the Slavery Experience and/or persons who were close to
or shared in those experiences, even vicariously! The contents
of the book are also intended to inform the youth who lack awareness
of what it took to acquire the rights and privileges that they
currently take for granted. Frequently people have asked why Black
people celebrate. The first poem contained in the book should
clarify the reason why we celebrate and why it is so important
to remember that there are still very substantial reasons to commemorate.
We need to read, we need to celebrate, Lest We Forget.

Sister Its Not Okay $10.00
Sister, It’s Not Okay Sister, there’s a lot of things in this
world over which we have absolutely no control: what the weather
will be like tomorrow, if an expected child will be male or female,
if our jobs will be phased out; will the company downsize? In
fact, I could fill this page, and probably a few others, with
events which are absolutely beyond our control, and which are
not okay, even though we may be negatively impacted by them. But
there are some things in our lives over which we are able to exert
a good deal of control. In the book, I will discuss just ten of
these things that are not okay. No doubt I could fill this page,
and quite a few others, with events over which we do have a measure
of control that are not okay, but I consider the following ten
The Top Ten. No doubt you can think of others which you would
include in the top ten, but please consider the following Top
Ten very seriously. Sister, it’s not okay to: (1) Have babies
out of wedlock (2) Raise your grandchildren while your own, adult
children party (live irresponsibly) (3) Keep able-bodied, adult
children in your home, support and/or enable them (4) Keep and
support a man (5) Support your child in a wrong (6) Talk negatively
to your child about his absent father (7) Expect and/or allow
someone else to raise your child (8) Let a man to whom you are
not married spend the night in your home in your bed (especially
with your child’s awareness) (9) Make your older child responsible
for a younger brother and/or sister (10) Make welfare a way of
life.

The Point System $8.95
The Point System Josephine Chappell (Josie) tells the story of
her first year in middle school. Josie had loved her elementary
school. To her, it was another home away from home. But middle
school is a whole, new world. She doesn’t already know most of
the kids. She no longer takes all of her subjects from one teacher.
She is no longer sure of what is expected of her or of how she
is supposed to act and react. She no longer feels sure of herself.
Adding to feelings of insecurity at school, Josie has a new baby
brother at home who still has to get used to things. Manuel (who
is called Man by everyone in the family) wakes the entire household
up early on Saturday mornings. Man gets a lot of the attention
at home that used to be Josie’s sole domain before he made his
appearance. Josie no longer feels special at school, and she’s
beginning to doubt the specialness that she always took for granted
at home. But the story is more than Josie’s. It’s the story of
thousands of boys and girls throughout the United States who leave
the comfortable niches of their elementary schools each year to
begin the journey into adolescence. It’s the story of new beginnings
and new experiences, both symbolically and literally. The Point
System, seen through Josie’s eyes and experiences, is at times
poignant, at times funny, and at times revealing. It’s a “must
read” for every fifth and sixth grade child and for the parents
of these children. It will delight and entertain, but most of
all it will inform. It will shed new light on the challenges faced
by children beginning this phase of their lives and will, hopefully,
make parents more aware of the need to help them face these challenges!

The Yield Book 1 $11.99
The Yield (Book I) The Rest of the Story (Book II) is about black
male/female relationships and the people involved in those relationships.
It is about joy and heartbreak. It allows numerous glimpses into
the private lives of the courageous people who were willing to
share their stories with the author. The Yield is written in two
parts, Book I and Book II. Book I sets forth the initial scenario;
Book II details the corresponding resolution of each of the initial
scenarios introduced in Book I. It is a nonfiction writing though
names and places have been fictionalized to protect the privacy
of the real people to whom the stories belong. These people have
suffered intense pain; many of them are still hurting. For their
pain, for their bravery, for their willingness to share their
private lives, it is the author’s hope, as well as the hope of
the women who have shared their stories, that many others will
be able to avoid the pitfalls and ensuing devastation. There are
two ways to read the book: the traditional way from beginning
to end, following the sequence of pages in numerical order, or
you may prefer to move between the scenarios, reading the initial
scenario in Book I and then its corresponding resolution in Book
II. However you prefer please read it. You won’t be disappointed!

Get
Up!
$5.00
Success comes with effort; to win you must try.
This is one fact that no one can deny.
So when you make the effort, if you fall,
Just get right up, be bold; stand tall!
Success is not guaranteed;
so don’t play around,
But failure is guaranteed if you stay down.
So get up quickly and dust yourself right off;
Don’t even give failure a second thought!
Believe in yourself and
in your power to succeed.
When the talk is negative, just refuse to heed.
Be positive; reject failure. Tell yourself, “It’s not my cup!”
Victory will be yours if you always get up!

a way that he will learn, at an early age, that
behaviors have consequences and that his responses

within your child that he has a choice in how he behaves
and in how he responds to the behavior of
others. Are You Raising One of the Next Generation of
Hoodlums? will also assist you with being conscious of
the examples you set for your son in the home and how

it is important that you model appropriate expressions
of anger for your son so that he is made aware that
there are appropriate ways of expressing his anger
and that there are inappropriate expressions of anger.
